Music,
Mrs. Lisa Thomas

I am very excited to return to Christian Center School for a fifth year. I believe that music is basic to a well-rounded Christian education. The Bible is filled with references to music, establishing music-making as a foundational element of worship for Christians. At CCS, we provide our students with uplifting musical activities that will build them up in the Lord. Personally, I want all of my students to feel the love of Christ shining through me as I teach them, and for them to be inspired to use their musical gifts and talents to worship God and spread the gospel of Christ.

Here at Christian Center School, I teach music and movement classes to the K3 and K4 students, and general music classes to the students in K5 through sixth grade. I also serve as Worship Leader for weekly chapel services, and as the Director of our Christmas and Easter Programs. As a service to Christian Center School and its students, I teach private piano lessons on-campus and coordinate liturgical dance and step class lessons through the Lisa Thomas Music Studio. For more information on these programs, please visit the studio’s website at www.lisathomas.musicteachershelper.org.

Off-campus, I provide free worship arts programs for children and youth at Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kingstowne, VA. My husband and I are members of Faith and are also active in its worship ministry. My professional history includes seven years as a Christian school educator, nine years as a small business owner, two years as a defense contractor, and six years as a surface warfare officer in the U. S. Navy. I graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1989. I am married to Commander Brian Thomas, USN (Retired). I am the mother of David and Garrett. We have four beloved fur children named Cocoa (a.k.a. “Puppy,”), Lucy ( “Cat”), and our newest additions, guinea pigs Louis and Charlie.
