5th Grade,
Mrs. Tonya Branson

It is my pleasure to be returning to Christian Center School for a third year as their fifth grade teacher. My experience as a Sunday school teacher led me to seek a career in education where I could share my love of learning with children full time. I have five years of teaching experience in grades two through five. For two years I served in public schools and this will be my fourth year serving in Christian Education. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education from Macon State College in Georgia and a Masters in Education, Special Education from Wilmington University in Delaware.

My husband and I attend Immanuel Bible Church in Alexandria where I enjoy learning more about God’s word through women’s Bible studies. One of my favorite Bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” I have great expectations for the work God will do this year and I’m excited to be a part of the wonderful family here at Christian Center School.

This year I plan to engage my class with more technology from Discovery Education and Storyworks from Scholastic Magazine. We will dive into learning with hands on activities in the Science lab and exciting field trips. Activity centers in my classroom will motivate learning through multiple learning styles and give the children choices for applying what they have learned within small groups or individual assignments and games. My prayer is for students to be blessed with knowledge and wisdom. With my help, they will know the promises of God’s love and purpose for their lives. May God bless Christian Center School.

Doing my best to honor God,

Mrs. Branson
