Extended Learning Center (ELC)

Christian Center School has a MORNING and AFTERNOON program designed to help working parents by giving quality care before and after the academic school day.

The Morning Program is a great social time for the students. Breakfast is allowed from 6:30 - 7:15 a.m. but must be brought from home. A table is set up in the gym to accommodate those students. Games & toys are available for the students. At 8:00 a.m. the children begin cleaning up the play areas and line up by class. The students are greeted by the principal each morning and we begin our day in prayer. At approximately 8:15 a.m. the students are dismissed to class. The instructional day begins at 8:30 a.m. (Students can be dropped off at 8:00 a.m. with no ELC charge).

The Afternoon Program is divided into centers. A schedule is posted each day for the planned activities. Some of these include: homework room (1st grade and above), outside play time, gym play time, movies, organized games working on large motor development, puzzles and other activities working on small motor development and thinking skills. At 3:30, we have a snack break for all children in ELC. Children are allowed to finish any items left from lunch, bring in a special treat from home, or purchase juice and food items from the ELC staff. The cost is 25 or 50 cents for each item. Snack money can be sent in at the beginning of the month or students can pay for their snack each afternoon.

Parents who need to enroll students in the morning/afternoon extended learning center should indicate on the application form if extended care is needed. Extended learning center fees are included in your monthly statement. The first billing will be on the October 20 statement. Note: For extended learning center fees, see Schedule of Fees.

Children must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. Fees increase to a per minute charge after 6:00 p.m. Please see separate Schedule of Fees in your student folder or click here for Extended Learning Center Fees.
